Daily Cabinet

Privacy

The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking and no cookies. Your games save on your own device, and we never learn who you are.

What we keep about you

Nothing. There are no accounts to sign up for, and we never ask for your name, email or anything else about you.

There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no cookies. Everything on the site, fonts included, comes from dailycabinet.com itself, so no other company is told you visited.

Your saves stay on your device

Your progress (plants, scarves, piggy banks, streaks) and your theme and motion settings are kept in your browser's local storage on this device. They aren't sent to us.

To delete them, clear the site data for dailycabinet.com in your browser's settings. That wipes your progress on that device for good.

Your browser also keeps a copy of the site's pages, so the games open even without a connection. That copy is the same for everyone and holds nothing about you.

Link a device

If you use Link a device, a copy of your saves goes to our server so your other device can fetch it with the code.

  • Only game saves are sent, nothing that says who you are.
  • The copy is deleted as soon as the other device uses the code, or after 10 minutes, whichever comes first.
  • Nothing happens unless you press the button.

IP addresses

Like every website, ours sees your device's IP address when it loads. We use it only to get the site to you and keep it safe:

  • The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles each request and may keep short-lived logs for security and to keep the site running. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • When you use Link a device, your IP address is used for a minute to count attempts, which stops anyone guessing codes. We don't save it.

Doing this is in our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site.

Children

The games are for everyone. Because we don't collect anything personal from anyone, we don't collect anything about children either.

Your rights

Your saves are on your device, so you can see, copy or delete them yourself at any time. We hold nothing else that identifies you, so there is usually nothing for us to send you or delete.

If you're unhappy with how we handle data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If any of this changes, for example if we ever add ads, this page will say so first, with a new date at the top.
